never argue with a fool 20090501 @ Friday, May 01, 2009never argue with a fool. first they bring you down to their level of low intelligence, then they win you by experience. i didn't have a very good day at work today. i'm starting to think that sometimes when you work with people of a lower education standard, you tend to think different. by that i mean for eg, when you notice something unusual of which do not match/make sense with some of the things you learnt in school you tend to ask. asking in a very polite manner, that is. and also precisely becuz you've attended PROPER SCHOOLING hence it's within you that you ask when in doubt. it's the curiosity then leads you to greater knowledge, isn't it? but somehow these people just don't understand the meaning of etiquette and mannerism. oh or hey, maybe they just don't have the plain simple knowledge of sense of courtesy. so before listening out to what you have to say, they start jumping to conclusions and start yelling, trying to prove that they are right. based on their many years of work experience. not only was he (yea i'm referring to someone but it's also for the benefit of the rest) unable to express himself well in English he had to resort to speaking Chinese which didn't make much sense cuz he was still trying so bloody hard to speak English to me. but to no avail. so there you are, pitiful and being outcasted cuz you just don't understand their "logic". "best of all", they began their insolent remarks on what you have been studying in school all these past years and that you shouldn't be studying Business yada yada yada... what pissed me off was that i wasn't EVEN faulting that particular subject that i was bringing up. i merely discussed the point that which i've been getting customers asking me the same bloody damn question and even being sarcastic at the poster which was pasted above the items. so what the hell? i don't see any problem that things should be blown up and everything becoming so sour. so why was he making such a big fuss over it? it's simply because these people lack the basic awareness of respect of which ensures that you LISTEN before you SPEAK. it is so common cuz people tend to think they're so helluva smart and "oh-so-bloody-experienced". wtf! okay i'm now fine. before this i felt like strangling someone. REALLY! pfft |
